I started this diet on jan 5th today is the 21st and im already down nearly 16 lbs. thats like 1 a day, probably not healthy at all, but I cant figure out what im doing other than staying between 1,200 and 1,500 a day will this last, or is it because I was so overweight?

I have, in the past, lost as much as 21 lbs. in 3 weeks. Then it slows down. I don't know why this happens, but it happened to me. I have a lot of weight to lose as well. I'm sure that if you had 20 pounds to lose, you wouldn't lose 16 in 16 days. It will slow to around 2 pounds per week (assuming you stay at a large enough calorie deficit). You may plateau and not lose any for a week or even two. The trick is to stay with it and keep on plugging away. Your loss will slow down, but if you are persistent, leaner times will prevail. Good luck and hang in there!0

Looking at your diary you aren't eating nearly enough..most days you are under 1000 calories (provided you are tracking everything you eat).
1lb a day is usually not very healthy. The more you weigh the more you'll lose at first.0
