Yes, it is a bad thing. You need to eat back your exercise calories. Your body needs a certain amount of calories just for you to live - you need to fuel it.

Calories are a unit of energy which your body needs in order to function. Is it bad to drive your car for longer than the gas can sustain it? Yes, the car will stop functioning. So will your body. You need to net at least 1200 calories in order to allow your body to perform all of the daily functions that keep you going. Anything significantly less than that is dangerous.
  • This isn't really a problem for me, unfortunately I could exercise a little more and it wouldnt hurt lol.
But my hubby has been counting calories just trying to help me in my journey, and looking through his log I realized at least 5 days of the week he is burning more than he consumes, sometimes burning almost double or TRIPLE!!!
Im concerned and he doesnt seem to think it's a problem. Any advice?

He may need to double check that all portions are entered correctly and measured out correctly to first ensure that the calories eaten are logged at the amount he's actually eating. It's so easy to underestimate and overestimate calories in what we eat.

Is he logging exercise properly? MFP tens to over estimate the calories burned, at least for me. That may cause him to show he's burning more than eating.

Too much of a caloire deficit can be a bad thing. He should be eating some, if not all of his exercise calories back. However, everyone's body works different so what works for you, or any of us may not work with him.
