I have been looking online for the past few days for a HRM. I find them to be quite expensive though.

On the other hand I own an iPhone4 which has the app Nike + iPod. I was wondering whether I should purchase the sensor for the trainers (don't own a pair of Nike trainers but I read that it works on any type). Would that be as accurate as a hrm?

Anyone out there who is using the sensor? Also is the sensor working for doing things like Pilates for example?

I am quite clueless on this area so I would appreciate someone shedding some light for me. :)

The sensor I feel is more for running to track distance and speed and not things like pilates, yoga etc. Plus HRM's use your heart rate in addition to personal information to estimate calories burned... and I'm not exactly sure how the sensor would accomplish that.

Not sure how much you are looking to spend but you can get the Polar FT4 on Amazon for around 60 dollars. It's the most basic HRM Polar has that counts calories.
