Hi,

I just joined here yesterday. My name is Martine, I'm 25 years old and I live in London, England.

I want to lose approx. 50lbs and then keep it all off. I just want to feel "well" again. I'm sick of everything being such an effort and I want to be able to run up stairs again without nearly dying! Ha.

I hope I make some new friends here along the way. :)

    Hi new friend,

Wow your pretty similar to me, I'm also 25 and also from London.

I'm in my final year at uni and want to get to my goal as I try and get a job in the summer. I've lost 48lbs so far and want to lose about 40 more (maybe more but I'll jugde it as I go). I know what you mean about stairs, even 48lbs lighter I still find them hard but I always walk them as I see them now as a great workout (excellent for bums).

I hope this site works for you as it has done for me.

Thank you for your reply! You seem to be doing so well, looks like this place really works!
Online WeightWatchers was rubbish, this place and my lovely new app seem so much more welcoming and quite like a game in many ways!

Oh yes I love the app. I just have an iPod touch so I'm not always connected to wifi but because I plan my meals and snacks ahead I'm always shuffling them about and it keeps me logging in everyday (just done 185 days straight today).

Hi! It really does work, I found it by chance last Jan, 3 months later I was 30lbs down! Of course you have to make commitments to plan your meals better and do more exercise but the support from other MFP members is fantastic.

I'm back on here now after falling off the wagon but I didn't gain everything back and it's really easy to get back into it. 50 lbs off here I come

    Good luck!

Welcome. I've only been here a couple of weeks, but working out and eating healthy has been a lifestyle choice since last August. I found that by tracking my food I was able to really understand what I was eating and how I could balance the food with the exercise. I've crushed my plateau and now I'm working on my next mini goal. 38 lbs down and since I'm 5'3" I guess that means another 70+ to go, but I try not to think like that.
Have fun and feel free to add me as a friend if you like.
    Thanks
    Lisa
