i've been using mfp since september or so and i've successfully shed about half the weight i think i could stand to lose. these last ten pounds, though...!!! i could use some support to keep me accountable. i backslid in december something huge, and have been struggling since to get back on the wagon. i'm not new to the whole health game -- used to work in alternative health (so i've heard all the bs that can be heard about fad diets and quick fixes, ugh), and like a lot of people on here have struggled with my weight for ages.

stuff about me: mid-twenties, michigan resident (whoop, freezing winters!), fandom nerd. a lot of my favorite activities involve sitting on my butt, so it's not a surprise that i'm unfit, but gosh darnit i'm tired of that. time for a change. :D

i'm not veg*n but i do try to base my diet around less-processed whole foods and eat 'clean' in general. i'd dig finding like-minded individuals, swap recipe tips, etc. but just having a few more people on my friends list of any stripe would help motivate me, i think. i promise to be supportive in return! can't say much about the shift key though, haha.

Dude, don't sweat December. December is evil. Pretend it didn't happen. Now it's a new year and leap year even, so you've got a whole extra day to lose weight! :D It's very nice to meet you, thanks for adding me!
  • Hey there my name is Patrick and I live in Minnesota with my girlfriend of 7 years, that is awesome that yout taking charge and making a change to a healthier you! Congrats to you! I am currently starting my first round of P90X and will be on Day 2 tomorrow, I am looking to lean out and build muscle, not get too bulky but it would be great to be in the same shape as Edward Norton from the movie American History X, i know that goal will probably take a few years to achieve but fitness and living a healthier lifestyle isn't about seeing the end goal in sight, it's about enjoying every workout, even if your struggling through it, doing something is better than doing nothing at all, fitness is a lifestyle, enjoy the journey and it's entire process. I hope you have a nice day!!
