Wadrobe/fashion advice and tips needed!!
Hey everybody. Ok this might seem silly but here goes....I have no style. I was overweight my entire life. At 300 lbs I wore what I could fit. No certain style. Now that I'm a size 8/10 I'm trying to create a style and wardrobe. I'm very eclectic. I like dresses, bright colors, dark, colors, jeans and ts, professional outfits. So my question is what are some of your wardrobe musthaves. Ur favorite outfit. What does ur closet look like? Assessories? Nigjt club attire? Office attire? Makeup and hair advice? Looking for any and everything fashion and beauty related. Tips and tricks to curls and aplying makeup. Good stores and brands to buy. U can take a look at my pics to get an idea of what my body shape is and what do u think I would look good in? I know it sounds silly but I am seriously in need of a makeover!! Lol!

I really like button up single colored blouses, like business blouses and black sharp looking slacks, I cant wait to fit back into those, as far as you finding the right out fit you just gotta get out there and explore what works for you0

I wish I could help you but I am in the same boat as you, I did mannege to lose all my weight once before, MAN! I was soo happy I was wearing a xsmall, but I only got to enjoy it for a couple of months then the pounds came back with a vengeance lol,
you know what has kinda given me an idea of what I will wear when I lose my weight again is what not to wear, you know that tv show, they have great tips and they know what works on what body, so I have been watching that every morning0 -
Have you ever watched What Not to Wear? They do makeovers, hair, makeup and clothes. I bet their website has some ideas on putting a wardrobe together. I am not very good about accessorizing! Also I am sort of afraid of bright colors!0

I wear whatever I can get for cheap and throw things together into what kind of mood I'm in that day :laugh:0

leggings - i love leggings, if i could live in them the rest of my life I would.
I found for winter, I can wear my bright summer dresses with leggings, a cardigan or long sweater and knee or calf high boots. Its a look that can easily be layered with scarves or belts, and can be dressed up or down.
I would also get a tailored pair of black dress pants, and a tailored pair of jeans - you can't go wrong with those, they are very versatile, and are perfect for the office.
Invest in a few awesome pairs of shoes too, black pumps are always appropriate...
Go online, or get a few magazines and pick out some looks you like. Don't be afraid to try on clothing you would never really consider wearing, or that doesn't look stellar on the hanger - you would be surprised what looks great. You also have to be honest with yourself while shopping - no matter how much you want something to look good, if it doesn't, don't buy it!
...if you can't tell I could talk about clothing, shoes and shopping all day lol. I've found as I've lost some weight my style has definitely evolved!0 -
You need some great fitting jeans! You can dress them up or down (a nice blouse, a cardigan, a t-shirt and a fabulous scarf...).
Window shop- critique the manequins- seriously, you'll get an idea what is in style and what you like.
Shop around a bit (take a friend and try on all sorts of random clothes) and find a place with a sales clerk who actually gives an honest opinion (no matter what size you are, everything does NOT look great on you!), when you find that sales clerk- ask their advice! They may pick out something that looks fabulous on you that would never have caught your eye. Don't be afraid to try on the exact outfit that's on display in the store.
Treat yourself to a makeup counter makeover, too!0 -
Until you find your own personal style, I say emulate someone on TV you like. For instance, the cast of Pretty Little Liars has the best stylist ever! Also learn your shape and know that tailored clothes make you look clean and neat. Its a challenge when you were heavier because we sometimes still see that extra poundage when we shop and will opt for larger clothes that conceal instead of compliment. I describe my personal style as boho glam neo soul ( dont ask). You can never go wrong with a Maxi Dress though!!!0
