Hi all does anybody else have any problems going over carbs and protien? Is it that important? I must be a carb addict becuase I am always over a little and protein sometimes as well. I am sticking with my calorie intake though. Does it matter if I go over the carbs? I will say that I am eating whole grains and things that are "healthy" Not just any carbs.....:grumble: :ohwell: :ohwell:

thanks

how are your fats? try bringing them up a little so your carbs don't go over. it's ok to be a bit high in protein, MFP's settings for protein are pretty low.

well, i seem to be always OVER in my fat grams and it has been OK, you shouldn't worry about small differences, especially if they come from good food. MFP is just a best guide and a little over/under will always occur, it's hard to level every meal to fit into the allotted numbers

If you're off by just a little all the time, probably no big deal. If you find you're always low on fats, that could slow down your progress a bit... you need to consume fat in order to lose fat. (I know that sounds crazy, but if you don't "give" your body more fat, it just holds on to what's already there)

In the grand scheme of things, you don't need a perfect formula every day.

all nutrients have special jobs and unless you have a health issue and are under a doc's care, you should try to get a healthy balance of the three. Fat has an important rols in your body. Fats are responsible for brain function including hormone production among other things. Eating fat doesn't MAKE you fat, eating too much (of anything) does. There are good fats and bad fats also. You can up your fats in a healthy way by eating a handful of nuts, adding olive oil to a stir fry dish, or by choosing fatty (but healthy) meats like salmon.
