Anyone else making a much needed trip to the grocery store today? If so, what are you getting?
Oat bran (changing it up from my daily steel-cut oats)
Grapes (to freeze - love snacking on these)
Liquid egg whites
Sliced chicken breast
Raspberries
Almond milk
Celery
Cucumbers
Sugar snap peas
Frozen veggie blends
Cottage cheese
100-calorie pack popcorn
Soy crisps
Soup (Thai-style chicken and chicken & rice from Healthy Choice are my favorites right now!)
Udi's bagels and bread
Laughing Cow cheese
Yogurt
Pretty sure this is it... it's going to be a costly trip, but I'm scraping together meals right now, so it's deifintely a necessary one!

I just recently tried Juanita's Mexican Gourmet canned soup and it was really good and low-calorie. I tried the chicken noodle and added some oregano and basil and a little bit of chili powder (I had a cold... the slight burn on my throat felt amazing). Going to try chicken chipotle today. If you find it, you should try some
Nice healthy list you got there... going to try to limit my processed foods from now on, more fruits and veggies, maybe my immune system will be better. 2nd cold in 3 weeks. Never had that happen before.0 -
I just went the other day and I made sure I got myself some avocado!! love them. totally out of season here, but they're still delicious!
also some tomatoes, chobani greek yogurt, eggs, canned beans and tomato products to make some chili later this week, and some sliced turkey!! I hate that the turkey has so much sodium but I still love it0 -
Yum I definitely want to make chili this week! Perfect weather for it0

I've gotta do what I call a supplement run -- where I've run out of certain things but not enough for a full run!
- Fresh fruits: kiwi, strawberries, probably some canteloupe
- Goat's cheese
- Pita chips
- Ground turkey
- Mushrooms
I'm making a chicken marsala pasta tomorrow night, so whatever ingredients I need for that as well.0 -
I made a huge pot of chili last night for lunches this week...I chili! This is my recipe:
1 lb or so of ground turkey
2 cans of beans, rinsed and drained (I used kidney, but you can use whatever you like)
1 28 oz can of stewed tomatoes
1 small onion, diced
2 green peppers, diced
2 cloves of garlic, minced
1 pkg of Lawry's Chili mix (or cumin and chili powder)
Couple dashes of hot sauce
Sweat out the veggies and garlic in a little bit of EVOO, then brown the turkey. Add the rest of the ingredients and let it boil, then simmer for at least 30 minutes (I think I simmered mine for about an hour and it got really thick and yummy)
Mmmm, can't wait to eat mine for lunch today!0
