Hi!
I just started acupuncture as a way to help support my weight loss. You still have to eat healthy and exercisen but after doing considerable researchn (actually reading legitimate scientific research) there is positive evidence in favor of increased weight loss for those who use acupuncture along with diet as opposed to those who did not. These were double blind and using sham- so there is no "subconscious wishful thinking" results that could be argued.

Anyway I tried it for the first time about s days ago, and I am trying to go in every week for treatment. I did notice changes in my body and it was startling- but I am intrigued to see where this will go!

I just wanted to see if anyone else has used acupuncture for a period of time, (it is a healing process, you have to go more than a few times), and what were your results and discoveries?

    Hi

I never went for weight loss but went many many times for problems with TMJ/neck and jaw pain and headaches....and also female issues (irregular periods etc)
I have to say I thought it was VERY cool and was the most relaxing experience of my life
After the session I felt energized, relaxed etc
BUT unfortunately for me, it didn't help with my TMJ issues...
  • Yeah, I have never come across any negative reports from people, so I thought what the heck, I have tried far more difficult things to lose weight than this! They say to give at least 4 weeks for weight loss results and decreased hunger to really start kicking in- so I will keep everyone posted if they are curious! Out of curiousity, did you try a chiropractor in conjunction with acupuncture? That might make a difference- just a thought!

chiropractors are great to for more added movement to your bones and joints as well, just don't over do it and have a flare up.....

    Hi

Yup, I tried it all..the chiro and even went for physical therapy
I also saw a oral surgeon for a mouth guard
The odd thing is when I got pg with the kids the pain/problems went away and never came back

Good luck with the accu....let us know how it goes
