What is low in calories to eat?? I just don't want to think Im eating a fairly low-cal dinner and then come home to find out I just inhaled 1200 calories.

Thanks for any suggestion!!:flowerforyou:

When I go Mexican I do a big salad with some of their grilled shrimp! I ask for my dressing on the side and lemon wedges. It takes me a long time to eat and I feel full! I ask for no cheese on it. You can also count out how many chips you can have for however many calories you are willing to spend and put them on a little plate. That helps me so I am not reaching into the big bowl. I love salsa and could eat it with a spoon yet chips are so much nicer! If they don't have grilled shrimp, then I choose fish, or as a last resort, chicken! If you are a red meat eater, maybe a portion of grilled steak would be a great topper!

Here is what Bob Harper from the biggest loser says:

    Mexican
First tell the waiter to not bring those chips to your table! I love them and could eat every basket they bring to me--STAY AWAY!

Instead place an order for corn tortillas and dip them into your salsa. It is the same thing as the chips except not fried and it will satisfy that craving of wanting to dip.

Instead of refried beans ask for black beans, no sour cream, no guacamole, no flour tortillas, no crispy taco shells. Okay, now that we have gone through all the "nos," let's go to what you can order, according to The Biggest Loser Diet.

Fajitas are a great weight loss choice since the meat will be grilled and your veggies are included. Burritos without the flour tortilla, of course. Tacos can also be ordered, if you just get the insides of them.

Many times, I will order three or four tacos, beef or chicken, and combine the insides of all of them on a big salad and bam! There you go: a big taco salad without anything crunchy except the lettuce.

No salad dressing required in a Mexican restaurant, because you have all that good salsa....Ole'!

I had fajitas but didn't use the tortillas, cheese or sour cream. I did eat some chips and their home made salsa the last time we went, I just didn't eat like a dish full like I've been known to in the past. All washed down with two beers and i still lost a lb......I think it's important to not go overboard sometimes about restriction
