Cycle - Couch to 100 - Challenge

I have recently got back on my bike after having not ridden for a long long time due to not having a bike. When I was younger I rode the London to Brighton twice and would love to ride it again.
I am aiming to improve my fitness by clocking up 100 miles over the next 2 months and wondered if anyone wanted to join.
The idea is you won't have rode much in the last few years and want to get back into the saddle. I will be posting my rides as I complete them.
I started today with a 2.57mile ride. I hope there are some more of you who want to join in for motivation and because you love a challenge.

I'll give it a go with you, I bought a bike a couple of years ago, went out on it half a dozen times and last year it sat in the shed........ hubby has put the seed in my head of completing a shorter Cyclone event which is 33 miles in June of this year. I'll amaze myself if I do it as I'm not very confident on the roads these days
If I do cycling in the gym do you want me to count that in my total or just outdoor mileage?0 -

That's great. You can totally get ready for June. Do you ride mostly at the gym? Could only logging mileage on the road encourage you to get out more?0 -
Yes, I do a bit regularly in the gym but definitely getting outdoors would be more of a challenge!
I'll see about getting my bike back out this weekend (I work weekdays and there's no lights on my bike currently) in the daylight for a little ride and let you know how I get on0 -

I would like to join this challenge! I used to ride a stationary at the gym pretty frequently, but then I bought a bicycle and started going on rides with my husband. It's definitely more challenging to ride outdoors. I'd forgotten how much more effort it takes.
Anyways, here's my first official ride:
"Dell Webb, La Jolla, Pebble Beach" route: 6.89 miles.
93.11 more miles to go!0 -

Great to have you join the challenge. Great ride.0 -
Thanks! I think it's a GREAT idea you've had. This is just what I need, because I always say I'll start riding more. This will help me stick to it.0
