Weightloss, c25k and Carb

Hello, I have some initial success on using the calorie tracker and I have also started c25k program earlier. I am in Week 3 at the moment and I feel like dying after the runs, in fact I think I am feeling worse than week 1. A friend suggested that I need more carb is I am going to run. But that is not going to help my weight loss plan is it?
Anyone been through this can you please let me know what is the best way forward?
Currently I am on a fairly aggressive plan of big Weetbix and Muescli based breakfast in the morning. Tuna salad lunch, and same for dinner. I have plenty of fruit in between.
