Mock Tacos (ground turkey)
I am sure this has been done before ...just not by me.
The other day I decided to make some tacos with ground turkey.
You could barely tell the difference once you put them on the shell and added your lettuce and tomato, cheese and salsa. Mmmm
My recipe....
One pound roll of ground turkey (browned) there is NO fat to drain
One package of Taco Bell Taco Seasoning
3/4 cup of water
Package of Whole Grain Soft Tortillas
Brown the turkey till done about 30 minutes. I added a ittle water halfway because is is VERY DRY.
after turkey is browned add your water and seasoning and simmer for about 5 -10 minutes.
then they are ready to eat.
Toppings
Low Fat or Fat Free Cheese (shredded)
Roma tomatoes Chopped ( I find roma tomatoes are best for tacos and such)
green scallions (chopped)
fresh cilantro (chopped)
Lettuce (shredded)
1- fresh Jalepeno (chopped) optional it adds a little pep..make sure your wear gloves when chopping
Jar of Salsa ( I use homemade)
Let me know if you try and like it. :flowerforyou:
