Dried Cranberries vs. Dried Cherries

Hello All,
I was just reading a post about quitting a sugar addiction (which I'm trying to do) and noticed that it said that the sugar in raisins is worse for you than the sugar in dried cherries. I eat oatmeal almost every day with either raisins or dried craberries in it, (won't be eating raisins anymore) and was just wondering if it would be healthier to substitute my cranberries for cherries. Anyone have any idea?
Thanks!
