Exercise and motivation... what keeps you doing it?

Everyone knows the story.... you get into an exercise routine, love it... and then for some reason it all falls apart and your routine stops.

How do you stop this from happening? What frame of mind do you put yourself in to make sure that your exercise program isn't going to be for just a few weeks or even months... but for years ahead?

    When I get tired of my exercise routine, I find another one. I don't care what exercise I do as long as I do something.

    for me it's about routine...I change things up often, but mostly I stick with intervals of some kind.

    I change it up a bit but I compete against myself, always wanting a bit better time, a bit more distance. I am a gamer so it's kind of like trying to figure out the best way to get a job done. By the time I get bored (if I do) then it'll be warmer and I'll head outside.
