Midnight snack not bad

I read a bunch of posts about the "Dreaded Midnight Snack" and "Avoiding the Midnight Snack". I just started back to eating healthy, but in times past I found that eating a tbsp of peanut butter or a handful of nuts before I went to bed, along with a glass of water would actually drop more weight than if I hadn't snacked. I never count it against my calories for that day or the next day and all was well. Even if it technically pushed me over my calories for the day. I didn't over eat and stuck with something high in protein. Any body else have similar results?

i've found that no matter WHEN i eat, if it includes a good protein source, i'm a lot better off because it heads off cravings.0
