Hi there! I am brand new to this website, and very excited about it.
I really dont think I grasp how exactly to eat. How many calories should I betaking in each day?
I am 226 right now 5'6", at the biggest I have ever been, I am very discouraged. My goal is to be 140-145
I just dont know where to Start!!!
Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks in advance,
Ashley

When you set up MFP, it asked for all your information then gave you a goal intake - aim for that. You will notice that when you log exercise, this site tells you to eat those additional calories. Do it. You don't have to eat all of them, depending on how accurately you track. The site estimations can be a little to a lot high. If you have a heartrate monitor, that is more accurate. But it is important that you fuel your body for exercise.
This isn't a race, slow and steady. No need to starve your body. You may lose pounds quicker in the beginning, however, it can cause problems in the long run.
Another tip - weight loss is not linear. Your may drop a pile of weight at first, then none, or go up a bit. You may go up a bit initially. Don't get discouraged and stay with it. You aren't going to see drastic changes at first, but it does add up.0 -
