Does it count?

On Tuesdays and Thursdays I have my chem class this semester and on thursdays I have my chem lab, both of these classes are held on the 3rd floor of one of the buildings on campus. I normally take the elevator but in my attempt to get healthier I've decided to take the stairs. My question is though, since it's not something I do everyday, very seldom actually in the grand scheme of things, would that little bit of extra activity count as exercise or just part of daily living?
Thoughts, input and opinions greatly appreciated thanks!

I could see it counting as exercise if you were to do it fast up and down and for a bit of time, but just going up them to get to class, I'd just think of it as a small daily "bonus". I work my hardest at level 3 of the 30 Day Shred and only burn 210 calories (and I'm 210lbs), so I doubt walking up 3 sets of stairs would burn much.
