We have the Wii. We love it. We have the Wii sports and when we play, we can break a sweat. It is great!!!!! Boxing is a great workout. Tennis is great, lots of moving. We also have Guitar Hero III. It is fun.
I think it is great because, you can download games from your computer, play against friends online, store pictures on it. It is great for all. My 3 year old plays too.
All the games require movement. Mario, pool, rabbit game. Whatever it may be, you are swinging something or lifting you arms.
I also think that the price is great. You are really getting a lot for your money.

We have both the Wii and the PS2, and I'd say go with the Wii. It's SO FUN! Renee is so right that everyone can play and it's active.

    Have fun!

Katie - have you tried the fitness trainer game on the Ps2? I'm really only interested in the fitness stuff - computers take up way too much of my time as it is...

The wii does not have to be run off a computer. You can download games from your computer if you would like. It runs like any other game system.

I know - but I group them in the same category - t.v. is in there too. If you are staring at a screen it counts -
the wii has the benefit of being with others though...
  • another thing that is fun to play is the dance dance revolution cause i think they have a setting on there thats called 'weight loss' or something and it counts all the calories you burn while you're playing and man do i work up a sweat on that!
