That there was a website that planned all your meals for you, based on your calorie and nutrient requirements. Wouldn't it be cool to input what you have in your freezer, fridge and pantry and then to have it come up with a menu for all your meals and snacks for a week? Then, you could do the days in whichever order suits you. But it would just be nice to be able to do that once in a while, to have some reassurance that you are "getting it right". Maybe it would even give you some "discretionary calories" each day for a cushion, where you could eat whatever you want as long as it is in that calorie range and you log it.

Sometimes, flexibility is not my friend. And sometimes it feels like even though it LOOKS like I'm doing everything right (even though the scale isn't moving), I could do MUCH better.

What do you guys think?

I think this is the worst idea...and here is why...

Having something else do the work for you does not allow you to learn and do this for yourself. The site would do all the work for you and you will not have learned how to plan your meals out on your own. You will not learn about how to actually meal plan ahead, you will not learn how to research the nutritional value of foods, you will not learn how to properly address when prices for said-products might be higher than your budget allows and how to make the necessary changes when needed....

When the internet goes down and you cant get internet reception on your phone, and that happens to be the night you have to start all over again? What have you learned?

You will have learned nothing. And have depended on something you cant rely on 100% of the time.

Food is just like exercise - you have to plan it out. You have to learn how to plan-ahead, prepare, do and how to properly end it.

You can, as you say, "get it right" if you do the work.. thats the whole point of losing weight, getting healthy, or whatever your focus is.

Make the effort for yourself. You will get much further, you will become more educated and more in-the-know.... use technology for knowledge, not convenience of getting out of having to do the work....

Thanks for the post. I definitely understand what you are saying. And it's just another of the reasons why I rarely use any packaged or processed foods for the foundation of my meals. I love to cook and I love to piece it all together. But I still think it would be great to have another resource and it would be kind of fun to get some "advice" on how to use up a lot of the stuff in my cupboards in new and unusual meal patterns.

that is why I never lasted on a so called diet. I never learned how to do it on my own. We all know what is good and healthy for us. I love that we can make our own choices. If anything this website helps you take out the pre packaged food and helps you out with preparing your own food. This is why I think it will work for me this time around. If you reach out to your friends and have them critique your choices of food then you will get reinforcement that you are doing it the right way (although I do not think there is one right way). It is so individual based on our preferences. Hang in there and stay strong.

The only limitations created, are created by you.... the only limitations that continue to exist are those that you are willing to thrive on....

Burn up some Google and get back in the kitchen! lol
