A Sugary Mess

Hello Everyone!
So I’m noticing that I consistently go over my allotted MFP sugar intake per day. I did a little research, and found you should only consume about 40 grams of sugar per day. However, sugar from fruits and veggies, which are naturally infused, can be in an unlimited amount.. Now I'm confused!
Does anyone else have a prospective on the recommended sugar intake? I'm counter is set at 24g. I'm usually at 50-70g at the end of the day, but at least half of that is from fruits and veggies.
Are there any suggestions on lowering sugar intake?
Thanks for your help!
