Motivation? What's that?

I really need to find a new way to set goals. In the past they were always food related... "You did so good all week, you can go out for dinner. Even if it is a buffet, you're on top of this, and will still eat well." Well, that obviously isn't working. Not only have I not lost any weight in the last 6mo's to a year, I'm losing interest in tracking and exercising, which is making me feel worse... Evil spiral. I need to get inspired again!!

So Friends, this is where you come in handy... What kinds of short term rewards have you given yourself?

  • Perhaps instead of thinking of rewards in terms of "food" try something new. Like a new outfit, or a manicure or something healthy and motivating in itself. Like new running shoes or new workout gear. It is a prize with a purpose!!
  • Cloths - last week I got UGG knock offs.

Thanks for the suggestions! Clothes are a big motivator, I have drawers full from when I first started losing weight about 2 years ago. Then I fell off the wagon and gained about half back and I really don't want to buy a bigger size. I've bought a few things second hand, but I've stuck pretty hard to not buying any new clothes that are a bigger size.

Im treating myself to my first ever fake tan when I finish 30 Day Shred. If Im tonight my tummy up, it might look even better if Im not pale as a ghost....havent done it in the past as scared of becoming an oompa loompa :P Just want a light tan

Other than that, oil massages are great rewards.....especially when youre all sore for working your butt off :)

I buy myself new apps for my phone or books for small goals
or an article of clothing, new sunglasses, etc for reaching bigger goals
