All of you fantastic bloggers-- how do you get so many people to read your blogs? I don't have that kind of success!

I've never been a blogger myself. But I do read quite a few pals' blogs. So maybe the secret is having a bunch of mfp friends who see ya post the blog message.

Some of my friends with successful blogs on here seem to have a lot of friends, and every time they post a blog, it comes up on my feed. So they naturally have a bunch of built in readers who just have to click a hyperlink.

Plus, they do tend to plug their blogs a lot, and thank us all for voting for them. I think you need to do a little old fashioned marketing. Good luck! :-)

Notice the little thing below it where you can vote for it? The ones with a lot of votes get featured.

Making your profile public might help. Posting interesting topics with provocative titles and fr3einding lots of folks would probably help.

Funny, you're probably right, but I'm not really into promoting my blogs here that much. I do that with my regular blog, off-site, but here it was more of just wanting to share. I enjoy making people laugh, at least a little.

I thought it was, and you're right- it wasn't. No wonder I get friend requests without messages when my profile clearly asks that they be included. D-oh moment.

I have about 75 friends that usually give me enough votes to get me featured. Sometimes I give it a plug on the forums if I think I've been particularly brilliant that day!!

Well, I used to put mine in message boards under the appropriate topics. Now I have a good readership, and I am in the Top Posts a lot of the time.

I haven't decided if I want good readership. I know I don't want poor readership, like 5 people. Maybe 26 would be nice. Or 27.

    No, 26.

It worked! I read it and gave you a vote. I didn't get the option to leave a comment though. Love humor...it keeps bringing people back.

Is it a setting I need to change, to allow comments from anyone? Or something to do with your platform?

Apparently the trick to getting blogs here is: post a topic titled "What's the trick to getting blogs read here?" because I got more readers today than I have had in the past year or two combined. Who knew?
