so i saw the movie "the cove" on sunday with some friends. i dont know if any of you have seem it but it's mostly about how about 23,000 dolphins are killed annually in Japan. It's also about how these fishermen killing the dolphins are packaging dolphin meat labeled as other types of meat, despite the fact that mercury levels in dolphin meat make it extremely harmful to humans. i know it's cliche but after watching the movie it really made me consider becoming a vegetarian. especially after they talked about how chickens and other animals are treated.

it's a tough decision because of a few reasons.

1. i do believe that certain animals are meant to be eaten in a way. i just dont think they should be tortured. it's just inhuman to torture animals and then on top of that, eat them.
2. i'm greek and most of our meals are meat based.
3. i've never been a red meat person. i heavily prefer chicken to steak. so it's not like cutting out all meat would be hard.
4. i'll have to start fasting from meat soon for lent anyway.

so all of these points kind of go back and forth... what if i just become a Pescetarian?

or maybe i wont commit to a label and i'll just eat what i think is appropriate...

thoughts?
