Boredom leading to hunger

Why is it that boredom causes me to crave food? The habit had to start somewhere, but I don't know why? Even as I sit here at work, doing something that is 'boring' I catch my brain thinking 'what can I eat?' or 'when can I eat next?' Maybe I need to take the entertainment out of food??? How do I do that??? SO MANY QUESTIONS!

  • It's natural for boredom to lead to hungry. My best advice is a piece or gum or some ice cold water. Maybe, your body is mistaking thirst for hunger or you could eat a 100 calorie snack. Something to just get you through it. I recommend eating 6 smaller meals a day. If you carry a water bottle with you, you'll realize how much of the time you're really thirsty instead of hungry.

Hey thanks for the reply. I'm reposting this one in motivation and support to see if I could get more responses. I would think I can't be the only one who deals with this phenomenon.
