Support in cutting down exercising...

I went to my doctor recently for help with an eating disorder and he wants me to cut back on my brisk jogs, to keep me from losing muscle mass and hurting my joints. I tend to over exercise and I'm really scared of starting to cut back today. I'm a stay at home mom, so that doesn't help. My mind wants me to believe if I'm not moving around, cleaning or actively exercising, I'm being fat and lazy. Any advice or good motivational quotes or sayings would be more than appreciated in this struggle. I want to stay around and watch my daughter grow up, but be healthy at the same time. Thank you all ahead of time for your responses.

Remember that your daughter is watching you all the time. What she sees you doing - this is becoming her concept of "normal." Behave the way you want *her* to behave as she's growing up. Try every day to pass on a *healthy* habit of exercise and not a warped one.
I tend to over-exercise myself and I understand that it's just as hard to control as an overweight problem! Keep thinking about your future - and your daughter's!0 -

That is a great perspective.0 -
Thank you so much. I'm really terrified about it, but I know that exercise is supposed to be fun and make you feel good and the way I've been exercising until recent has made me feel like it's a punishment and I work myself often to the point where I feel like jumping in front of a car or something.0

:brokenheart: your last description sounds really serious. maybe there's an eating disorders support group--at a nearby hospital for example. you could ask your dr for recommendations or call the RD at the hospital.
eating disorders involve the mind so much, so maybe a good therapist will be able to help you come up with a workable plan and help you stick with it.
good luck--0
