From 250lbs+ to crazy about weights

Hey! I'm looking for women (or men) who can give me some insight into weight lifting. Initially a friend on MFP posted a link to an article on Nerd Fitness about Staci. She is what sparked my interest for weights initially.
Here is the link:

So, after playing around with some weights and feeling the very slight difference in my muscles....I want more. Like, I want to push myself and be stronger. Does anyone have a routine or something I can do to really get started?

I've not read it, but I'm told The New Rules of Lifting for Women is a very good place to start.
Good luck!0
