I am sure I read somewhere that you can average out your calories so you can allow for more at weekends?
Is this true and if so, can someone tell me how
Thank you and hope you have all had a fab day?

yeah, it's called "zig-zag" or "calorie cycling.
what you do is you take your daily calories and multiply by 7 to find out how many you need a week, i.e. if you aim for 1200 a day you multiply by 7 to find out that you take in 8400 a week. then you can break it up into a schedule, of low days, medium and higher days. as long as you hit 8400 for the week you will be good.0 -
Freedieting.com offers an online calculator that does it for you.

I actually really like this idea, so your body doesn't get into many habits. What I'm experimenting with is zig-zagging calories and exercise together...so that I give my body a ton of energy on days in which I do the most exercise, but then usually the next day I drop it down so I have enough energy but so my body is more efficient. My hypothesis is that 1) my body will constantly change and not get into a cycle and 2) I'll retain the high metabolism because I'm eating high-cals basically every other day0
