I am just coming back to MFP after being away for awhile..in my time away, I have lost 27 pounds~but still have a long way to go so that is why I am back at it. I just have a question about the calories goals..I had it do it for me (insteady of setting my own) and it says that my goal should be to eat 1200 calories a day and exercise 3 times a week for 30 minutes each time and to burn 700 calories. Does that sound right?? I'm just confused because I looked up on free dieting and it said that if I want to achieve extreme weight loss..I should eat 1832 calories a day. I'm 5'3" and weigh 229 so if anyone can explain any of this to me I'd appreciate it...I just want to make sure I'm eating like I should...I have it in my head that I'm suppose to eat less and move more but I'm starting to wonder if that is the whole wrong way of thinking because last night it said that I had an extra 114 calories that I needed to consume because of my exercise...once again thanks for any advice.

What did you list for amount you want to lose each week? I think that will change the calories per day. I left the 1 pound recommended and it has me at 1897 calories with 3 -30 minute works outs per week. I lost 4 pounds last week but that was my first week. My starting weight 255. Hope this helps0
