Drifting back to where I used to be

Oh, what a roller coaster I've been on! I've gained around 15 pounds - 11 of it since I've started taking steroids for an all over skin rash that itches severely and muscle relaxers and pain meds for a rotator cuff injury. Saw 2 specialists today & they did a skin biopsy. Hoping for some answers very, very soon...... I am miserable and the extra weight is just adding to my discomfort. Please pray my friends and keep me accountable - I don't ever want to go back to where I was but it seems I'm drifting there.

Some things are beyond our control. You will not be on those meds forever. Once they diagnose the problem and your rotator cuff is healed, you should be able to get back to where you want to be. I know it is extremely frustrating to reach a good point and then by smacked down by a physical ailment. I had so many people telling me I was looking great that I was really feeling good about me. But then, I started having trouble with my heel and limited my walking. Maybe it is God's way of telling us we are taking too much pride in ourselves and not giving him his due. It could be worse. It could be a terminal illness, but at least you know it is only temporary.

What a very insightful thought @autumnridge. I couldn't have said it better.

@Tammy- Keep your head up. Stay encouraged. Try to log everyday-even if you're having a tough day. And try to keep up the healthy habits you've created. Even if you gain some weight back- it's those healthy habits that really count. Get your water in. Eat clean. Get in some exercise when you can. And when your body is back in the right space you can get back to losing again.:flowerforyou:

These replies are great. You have to take heart; you're in a tough position right now, but it will get better. Do things to keep you from feeling overwhelmed, and remember that just you being here means you are already pointed in the right direction. You will feel stronger and stronger, and you'll remember that your body is at complete attention at all times... when you are ready, it will be too, and you will do great. You are here! That is because you are meant to be - and all of this is just part of the tale you'll tell us when you come back feeling stronger, happier, and better than ever :smooched:
