Interesting positive side effect

I've been doing this just over a week, and I feel great so far. Interestingly, I have found one little unexpected "side effect" from the change in nutrition....my skin is SO much better! I suffer from fairly severe rosacea - to the point where multiple dermatologists have said that they've never seen someone my age with such a bad case. I also have seborrheic dermatitis on my face, so it's very dry and rough. I know, hot, right? LOL

Anyway, my skin is now smooth, just lightly pink and all of blemishes have cleared up! I am still a little dry but the change is AMAZING - my husband keeps commenting on how good my face looks.

I think I have it narrowed down to the sweets - I'm barely eating any at all, my sugar intake is WAY down from where it was. I'm so psyched!

Anyone have any other positive changes from the lifestyle change, other than a smaller jean size?

    YAY for water :drinker:

A few weeks ago I traded all my beverages for water.. it was supposed to be a week long challenge, but I've kept it up for about 6 weeks now. My skin looks awesome!
I don't have any particular skin conditions other than dry skin, especially in the winter. But now, my skin is glowing! Even my dad noticed I looked "brighter"
I love my new skin. I feel great.. now if only I can get into a smaller jean size
  • As far as skin goes, I've been told that I look lighter.. which I don't understand.

The thing I'd rather like to point out is that I no longer snore.. or at least not so badly. My snoring used to be horrific (or so I was told). Also, I don't have problems with my acid reflux any longer. I used to fear eating and drinking because I knew that at some point I'd be up in the middle of the night frantically searching for Tums because my throat felt like a volcano had erupted inside of it.Now I can actually eat spicy foods. I still get hiccups randomly, which I chalked up to the acid at first.. but.. guess not.

I stopped getting acid reflux as well. I used to get it extremely bad just like you. I love not having to worry about it...now if only I could figure out how to avoid the...eh...spicy food aftermath.
  • My skin has cleared up a lot too! I was drinking 2 or 3 sodas a day. I definitely think cutting out so much sugar has helped.

Hmmm.. I've been told by my doctor that drinking milk helps.. Unless you're talking.. ummm.. hiney scorching..then no.. Milk probably won't do a thing for that.

YES!!! My face has really cleared up and has a healthy glow!!! SO many people have commented on it too and how much healthier I look!

cutting out sugar and wheat is what helped mine, plus lots of water, veggies and hard exercise!
  • Well, since we're all being honest here.......I've gained some confidence..... which had led to more nakedness. :) A very lovely side effect.

yes, even "mature" skin like mine gets better....darn it, Mom was right about eating those veggies! Also I feel better, less depression, and more upbeat, which spills over into work and just about everything, really

I've also had a massive reduction with acid reflux. Used to have to take Zantac almost every night but I think I've only had to take it once or twice in the last year!

Also, I had started developing plantar fasciatis (sp?) but that went away as I lose the weight and became more active.

Plus, just moving aruond in general is so much easier - especially during special adult time.
