Any suggestions for some good veggies to snack on? I have been doing predominately baby carrots....any others? Looking for some things to have with lunch and possibly eat with hummus? Thanks!

it's probably odd but I like raw asparagus. I've always like cauliflower, cucumbers, and celery too. (esp the celery for the crunch) red bell peppers are excellent with hummus.
  • I got the Green bean chips form nuts.com. They are yummy but perhaps a bit of sodium.

Stringless sugar snap peas, baked kale chips, bell peppers, cucumbers, raw zucchini is really good with hummus.

I second the red bell peppers w/ hummus! (yellow, orange, and green are all great too!)
    snap peas or snow peas
    zucchini
jicama (cut into strips and tossed with lime juice and a little cayenne pepper for kick!)

Red, Orange and Yellow Bell Peppers are really good. I love Jicama, Raw and great in dips. Ever try a raw Sweet Potato or Yam? They are good too. They have a few more carbs but orange colored vegie's are good for you. Like carrots. I need some ideas for fruits that aren't too high in sugar. I'm stuck on Blueberries and Bananas. :flowerforyou:

Here's a good list of fruits by sugar quantity: http://lowcarbdiets.about.com/od/whattoeat/a/whatfruit.htm
If you like blueberries, try blackberries and/or raspberries instead! (Stay away from unsweetened cranberries, though. They're awful, in my opinion)
