Ive read many times that losing the stomach is all in caloric intake not working out. If this is true how do you end up "skinny fat"?

  • That is a great question. Diet has a large portion to do with it however you want to ensure you are working out as Lean Body mass helps you burn more calories at rest.and will help refine your diet for you. Are you currently seeing anyone to refine your meal plans?
  • If you've been dieting all along with no exercise or just do cardio but without weight training to preserve or add lean body mass, then you'll end up skinny-fat. They are those people who are overall thin but with no muscle tone & look soft & flabby overall. The ones who are thin but with a little pot belly or flabby arms or cellulite are perfect examples of skinny-fat people.

Skinny fat describes a situation where someone weight is low, but they still have a relatively large amount of fat and very little muscle mass. It usually happens when people lose weight, but pay no attention to retaining lean mass.

There is a genetic component as well, some people are better had holding on to muscle mass than others.
  • So basically people shouldnt say its ALL diet?

The dropping pounds part is a lot more about diet, it's the retaining muscle that exercise and strength training helps with.
