So I have been reading around various posts, and using the advice I saw from multiple people, I decided to stop using the MFP calculator for expending calories and get an HRM. I got the Polar FT60. I went ahead and calibrated and hopped on the elliptical and went to town for an hour (I usually do cardio for 45 minutes T/TR/SUN and then strength training, and then cardio for 60 minutes M/W/F). I cant run or use the treadmill because of a knee injury, so elliptical it is. So anyway, after an hour of ensuring I was in "the zone" for fat burning and keeping my heart rate up, I had only burned 265 calories. In reading other people's entries I am seeing people burning 500 calories and sometimes more after an hour of cardio. I am 5'4", 149lbs. I was hoping other people who use ellipticals and an HRM could tell me around how much they burn after an hour?
