I think sugar is extremely important to log and to make sure you don't go over. For example, south beach diet's phase one has almost no sugar, you can't even eat fruit! And after a week of that I notice my belly is much flatter. But eating fresh fruit is very important! So I try to make my sugar intake come from natural sources. LImit your refined white sugar as much as possible. Eat dark chocolate instead of milk, don't eat the yogurt with the fruit in the bottom- get plain yogurt and add fresh fruit yourself. It's not just about counting calories, it's about what kind of calories you're putting in your body.0

Going over on protein is fine even good, but not sugar!! Try to read labels and be careful of added sugar.0
