Today for the first time in 8 years I had a blood pressure reading of less then 120/80.
I was told I had high blood pressure at 17. I am 25 now and 8 weeks ago was seeing readings in the 130s or 140s over 80-something.
Today it was 118/56!!

You are doing your heart a lot of good by eating healthier and exercising. I bet your cholesterol level has dropped too. It's amazing the changes to our body (inside and out!) when we start taking care of ourselves!0

That is great! I'm so happy to hear this as I know how worried you had been about your health. I knew you could stick with it!0

I'm not sure about the cholesterol, I was never told that was too high. Dr.s did blood work a few times when they first found my blood pressure was high but they never gave me the results, just told me it was fine.
I got one done at work a little over a year ago (not as accurate but a quick finger prick test) that was 206 but with my good cholesterol nice and high so the nurse wasn't worried about being a bit over 200 (plus I had eaten already that day since I didn't know they did a cholesterol test). I have another one of those scheduled on Feb. 6th so I'll find out what it is then. This time I have an early appointment too.0 -

This has really given me the motivation too. I the weight is coming off slow so its still going to take so long for it to be healthy. But as I said my blood pressure has been high ever since I was an adult. I was even told that it was really bad being so young because the longer its high the worse the risk for a stroke is, but with both my parents and my sister having high blood pressure I always thought it was genetic and just going to get worse. I mean now my blood pressure is lower then either of my parents and they are on meds for it (I'm not yet, I was rarely over 140 so they didn't prescribe anything yet - now if I work hard they will never have to)
Even more one of the big things motivating me is I want to have kids some day, DH and I are thinking about starting to try in a little less then a year. I was so worried about complications if I already had blood pressure issues before I even got pregnant. If I can keep going for the next year my weight and blood pressure will be much better for when we start to try.0
