I can NEVER figure out how many calories I'm eating at a mexican restaurant!! How many do you think are in a side of rice and beans, with a little bit of cheese on the beans? 500?

mexican is impossible, I always try to find a place that has a similar menu.

Way to many variables, I usually end up just high balling it and going for the max one I find on the search function...

Some restaurants lard their beans, some do not. Some put grease in their rice while prepping some do not, some use low fat milk or low fat sour creams some do not, some use lard in their tortillas some do not, some bake, fry, grill their components and etc...

    Very difficult in general....

I either break down each ingredient and go for max or just find something similar and go for max.

I have a special meal in my diary called "It got crazy up in here and I ate out" - 2,000. Mostly used for visits to mexican places. :-)

I try to stay away from the rice and beans (usually have a bite or two) and then either get the fajitas or some tacos. I don't eat cheese or sour cream with any of it. Sometimes I have a bit of guac.
I then break down what I eat and add it in individually. It's hard and I'm sure I'm off, but we can't be spot on all the time.

I found that alot of places give the option of having black beans instead. not quite so bad.

  • Oh great I was looking for some kind of answers! Im leaving for Mexico on the 13th.. Im not even gonna bother trying to track. Im just gonna rely on the calorie gods to pity me and take notice on how well i've done and just leave me alone for a week. AUGH! This is the only reason I don't want to go :(
