Call me Zephyr. I'm an American girl, 5'2'', 189 lbs (as of today! still doing a happy dance about it!) and I just started using the mobile app to count calories. I was about 240 at my heaviest, my goal is 135, and I've lost 55 lbs on my own since February 2010; I just downloaded the mobile app the other day and it's been helping tremendously. Counting calories is hard when you're constantly presented with different options; looking EVERYTHING up just becomes a hassle, but I've started memorizing the values of a few things I encounter often. I'm a college student, and lately I've been bouncing around between school (easy to go over my calorie limit in the cafeteria, where carbs are king and all the vegetables turn out ****ty), my dad's house (easy to stay under it because he's diabetic, so no high-carb or sugary treats to be had), and my boyfriend's house (very, very easy to go over, because beer and pizza are plentiful when you have young men in the vicinity). I have, however, managed to lose 3 pounds since getting the app about a week ago, so there is that. :)

I'm also about to study abroad in Russia for a semester (I leave in a week! holy ****!), leaving my entire support network behind, so I'm hoping this place can help me keep on track. I dunno how international MFP's food database is, although it seems pretty extensive from what I've seen so far; I guess I'll find out, and maybe contribute some data if necessary, lol!
