Calories Burned Formula? Is this accurate?

I found this on a website. I don't remember which one.
I hate not knowing how many calories I'm burning, but I can't afford a heart rate monitor right now. Anyone know if this formula is accurate? or even close?
"divide your weight by 2.2 to get your weight in kilos. multiply your average heart rate by 0.4472 to find A, your weight by 0.1263 to find B, and your age by 0.074 to find C. Add A and C, subtract B, and then subtract 20.4022 and divide by 4.184. The result of either equation gives you the number of calories burned per minute, so multiply it by the number of minutes you exercised."

I hope not! When I figured it all out it did equal about what my BMR supposedly is.
EDIT: I'm dumb... That's because I calculated it based on my resting HR. I'm a quick one today.0 -

About right for me when doing a steady workout (Sweating but not at full intensty). 5 hours cycling around steep inclines knocks mine up by an extra 3 cals a minute0

Think about it logically... how can ANY formula be right for everyone? Similarly, any *reasonable* formula is going to be right for some people when doing some workouts. So how do you decide if it's right for you? And for what workouts?
Even so, it's still just an estimate. How is this estimate any better or worse than other estimates?
All that said... with a guestimate for what my average HR is (not even sure I know what that term refers to) it put me at 12.5cals/minute, which is reasonably close for my more intense cardio workouts, a little high for my pacing workouts, and WAAAAY high for lifting.0
