Frustrated

Hi everyone,
I am feeling frustrated and guilty today because I had major sugar cravings and I gave in to them. My weekness is chocolate, and the only chocolate we had in the house was the chocolate chips in some granola bars, so I ate about 7 of those, and then I found some chocolate grappa that we were given for Christmas, so I had a glass of that. How do you resist your cravings? I felt I really couldn't resist them today. I have returned to work from maternity leave this week, so maybe this change and the fact that I have been tired gave me the urge to binge.
I have been really good logging my food and excercise, but i can't bring myself to log in todays food.
I will try to do better tomorrow. Thanks for listening

I've always have issues with cravings and binges. There have been some things that have helped me. I work hard to keep only healthy options in the house which cuts down on my binging. I have always started working on "re-wiring" my taste buds so that the things I crave are more healthy sweet things (fruits, etc). The truth is though, denying yourself a treat now and then makes those cravings and binges worse. I keep a bag of dark chocolate hershey's kisses in the freezer along with no sugar added fudge pops. I literally work treats into my calorie counts on certain days so that I don't feel like I'm not getting the chocolate flavors (because I'm a HUGE chocoholic) I crave but so that I know I'm not getting too much. Typically I allow myself some kind of dessert on the three days that I have both my gym workout and my adult ballet class because I've really burnt up calories on those days. Most importantly though, remember that one binge, one slip up, isn't the end of the world. Log it even though it makes you feel guilty and then learn from it. You already did the first step which was identifying that maybe fatigue played into your binge so look at ways to combat that in the future or have a plan for when those cravings hit (like the kisses or the fudge pops of some other lower cal, tasty treat that will let you feel like you're really indulging). If you ever want to talk tips or anything like that feel free to add me here or message! I'm newer to the site but not new to weight loss.

I can identify with your craving sugar. I've been tracking my food for a while, and I've noticed that sugar is a problem for me. Once I get started, its hard to quit! I just want more and more! Wish I had some good suggestions for ya, but I'm in the same boat! I think acknowledging the problem is a good start! Hang in there! We all mess up sometimes! You'll do better tomorrow!0
