Barley Bread vs Wheat Bread

I've recently tried the brand Alvarado St. Sprouted Barley Bread, for only 70 calories per slice. I've been using it on my sandwiches this week and it's really tasty! I am impressed and I like that it uses natural ingredients.

Has anyone tried this or know the difference in health benefits in eating barley bread as opposed to whole wheat bread?

  • Well, barley on the whole has more fiber and nutrition throughout the grain than wheat so its a lot easier on your glycemic load. Other than that... I would just compare nutrition labels and eat whichever you prefer in moderation :)
