I've been to alot of websites and the idea weight for me seems to be between 145-177, well that seems a little low im thinking its probably about 5-10 pounds off, because i haven't weighted 177 since High school, I'm thinking my healthy weight would be about 185(male, medium build), perhaps even 190 if i add on more muscle, what do you guys think ??

Go for the top weight then when you get there see how you feel and look as you maybe happy at the top range if you build alot of muscle say

That is really just an estimate... everyone is different, and it doesn't take into account muscle either. :) Like sandown12 said, just go for what you want and see how you feel once you get there. Best of luck to you!

It's better to aim for a healthy range rather than one particular figure. Although BMI isn't perfect, it gives you a good start. Work out your maximum and minimum weight to give you a healthy BMI and aim initially for a couple of pound below the highest to give you some "wiggle room". When you get there you can re-evaluate if you need to lose any more.

Dont read too much into the weight recommendations. I was still approx 14lb above top suggested weight and had friends ask if i had been to dr cause i looked sick. One even got me aside to ask in private if i had cancer. I put on only 4lb and all of a sudden no one asked about my health except to say i looked good. I think age, body type etc needs also to be taken into consideration. Good luck to you :-) ps i gave up smoking, put on a lot of weight so...here i go again
