OK, so almost as far back as I can remember I've been waking up in the middle of the night and eating sweet junk food. I talked to my new doctor about it and she says that most people wake up because they need a drink. My body says it needs a cookie. I have put a bottle of water by my bed at night for the last week and guess what? It's true. I'm soooo thirsty. I'll drink some water and fall back to sleep! This is great for me!! YAY:laugh: :drinker:

I have my "drinking" signals messed up a lot. Now I just carry water with me ALL the time and drink water when I think I am hungry. If it turns out I am really just thirsty, well, I don't feel the "hunger" anymore. If it's time for a meal, then that pang continues! Kudos to your Doc!
  • I would never have guessed that our bodies were capable of tricking us like that!

:ohwell: Wow! I never knew this about the waking up at night being thirsty and thinking you are hungry when really we are thirsty! I am going to start putting water next to my bed and drinking it in the evening instead of snacking on crap!

 Thank you so much for this!
