Hi,
I've been trying to stick with my diet for the past few weeks and at first it seemed pretty easy - i was eating healthy food and staying under my target calorie goal without much difficulty, but now i'm finding it sooo hard. I am giving into my cravings of sweets and salt and alcohol, all things that i'm trying to avoid. I've pretty much fallen off the diet wagon and i don't know how to get back on. Any words of wisdom for me?

Sometimes you have to make small goals and build on them. For example, when I started by first goal was to eat only whole grain breads and pastas and cereals (wanted to increase fiber), next was veggies, then water, then fruit, etc etc.
Sometimes just giving everything up makes you only think about those things so you work yourself up into a craving frenzy and get crazy with what you eat or drink. So obviously my suggestion is to make short and sweet goals that you can build on.0 -
I know its hard there are times that i get a sweet tooth and want either candy, cookies, or ice cream so I try and limite those things. If I start to get a sweet tooth I try eating a piece of fruit first and see if that helps. Just remember moderation is the key, if you do eat more then you wanted to then the next day just work out extra hard to help burn off the extra calories you ate.0

stizzef,
Just keep starting again. Try the 80/20 rule my friend uses. She has a very active social life, and is always in "Food Temptation" avoidance. Eat healthy 80% of the time, and don't beat yourself up over the 20%. Of course; just exercise 20% more or lose the weight more slowly than you would have, had you been on the plan 100%.
We all have meals or days or weeks when we don't follow the plan, but long term success depends on not giving up. One day does not a failure make. Or one week. You start again.
Deserve it! You have to believe you deserve to be a healthy weight with a good exercise program, forever.
