Today I am being treated to lunch by my coworkers as a belated birthday thing. I am also meeting a friend for lunch tomorrow. I dont do so good when eating out. I need suggestions for food that you eat at resturants. I have about 1,000 for the remainder of the day. I already plan to ask for a to go box once my food arrive to save half for my dinner.

I recently got some advice from a nutritionist for losing weight and especially when making choices while eating out. She told me to picutre my plate divided into quarters. Fill 3/4 with plant based foods, fruits, veggies, whole grains. When you eat this way, you don't have to worry as much about every calorie. Lunch is pretty easy. Get a salad topped with a lean protein. Shrimp is best but you can also do chicken breast or a lean cut of red meat. Be careful about dressing. If you can, just squeeze some lemon on top of the salad or use about a tablespoon of an oil based one. Stay away from creamy dressings. Good luck and happy birthday!

Depending on where you're eating you could try looking up their nutritunal (How the heck do you spell that?) info online?

You could probably find calorie info for at least most big restaurants. Or fastfood chains if that's where your'e eating.

If you know the calories in what you are ordering ahead of time, you will be much better off. See if you can lookup the menu ahead of time.
