Does anyone else incorporate yoge into their routines? I like the Gaiam dvds with Rodney Yee. I try to do yoga 2-3xs/week.

It keeps me limber and the strength training ones are no joke! What are your thoughts?

I would like to do yoga 2 or 3 times a week but end up doing it about once a week. I like the beginner DVD by Patricia Weldon (I think that is her name). There is a 16 minute "Putting it all together" session that I have memorized.

I love yoga. My wife got me into it several years back. She uses Rodney Yee videos but I use David Swanson (Ashtanga - Short Forms) or Brian Kest (he talks incessantly and says the most ridiculous things but I love the 45 minutes routine). It's my favorite workout. I stopped doing it a few years back, put on weight and started smoking again. Once I made the decision to quit smoking and get back in shape I knew yoga would be a big part of it. What I didn't realize is how difficult it can be to do yoga when you're over-weight. Now that I've lost 17 pounds it's getting easier to do and I'm doing it more often.

There are samples of Rodney Yee's approach on youtube

I really dig his calming instructions and beautiful scenery.

No, I play 6 string. I was lead guitarist for my band but I play a lot of acoustic as well. Only played bass on a couple of songs. Are you in a band?

I practice Hatha yoga (and just realized I haven't recorded it in my exercise journal-- I don't think of it as exercise). Since I moved, I haven't found a yoga studio that satisfies me, but I practice following a DVD, "Yoga Sanctuary," with Shiva Rea almost daily; and I meditate daily.

I love Bryan Kest-have gotten lucky enough to study with him a couple of times. He cusses like a sailor, but I've never sweat so much in my life!

You read my mind! My Gaiam Am & PM dvd is in right now, singing me to sleep as I log my food. LOL

My absolute favorite yoga DVD is the Firm's Power Yoga because it's a good workout but relaxing at the same time. I do that once a week now but in 2010 I reached my goal weight just by doing that DVD and walking daily.

I decided today that my schedule is becoming so stressful I'm going to try to do either one 20 minute session right away in the morning or before bed, probably with Rodney Yee because he's so relaxing to listen to. :-) I'd also like to maintain my flexibility since I've really been focusing on my running and it tends to tighten the muscles.

Absolutely! I stopped doing it regularly a while ago with my crazy job. I just started practicing regularly again and cannot believe how much my body has tightened up in the year since I let it go. I agree with jeffazi, it's more difficult since I also gained weight over the last year, but I have faith I will get back to where i was with regular practice :) I also love Rodney Yee videos most of all.
