hi,
My boyfriend got the DVD for P90X.

I am doing right now 30 day shred and after that I wanted to start P90x.

Do you think it is too much of a big difference in the level of difficulty?

What do I need to get started with P90x?

Thanks! :)

Definitely not. Jillian Michaels is no joke. The thing with P90X is that you need strength, but they don't expect you to have all of it when you start. You gain it as you go through the 90 days. The good thing about you starting with the 30 Day Shred is that by the time you're done, you'll have the stamina/endurance to keep up with Tony Horton.

I have both, and I prefer Jillian Michaels only because I prefer her as a trainer and the length of time you need to commit to everyday isn't very much. P90X was way too much of a time commitment for me; It was also too slow. I got bored really quickly from it.

If you do both, you're gonna look fantastic! Good luck!

Have done both - Much prefer P90X personally - much better results. :)

The workouts ARE longer, but the results for many are more dramatic. It is made to be an extreme plan, to produce fast results, and big body composition changes, in a relatively short calendar time. (90 days) And not everyone wants, or needs this type of program.

The workouts are 60 minutes on average, with an additional 10-15 min on abs three days a week. Yoga (which I personally skip) is 60-90 min, depending on if you do the whole thing (one day a week)

It is a time commitment. Not everyone can do that.

But for me, for the results I personally wanted, I made the time. I was unhappy with less results.

And it was well worth it.

    See my post here:

At a minimum you need resistance bands and a pull up bar and chair. (I use an in door one, that does not damage frame)

Modifications are available for all exercises, to allow you to build to doing them correctly and completely.

I much prefer dumbells. The key with P90X is to always push harder, every time, aim for one more rep, raising weight lbs a bit more, etc. Keep pushing for your own personal best every time.

JM was boring to me, and I also did not get as dramatic results in the same time frame.

Different strokes for different folks. Everyone has things that suit them better, and that's terrific

I have done both and got results with P90X. The Jillian workout is great also but I didn't get my weight or body to change with it unfortunately.
