62 pounds or 40 pounds?

This may sound stupid but here goes.
My high weight was about 2 years ago. As of this past July, I was down 22 lbs from my high weight (22 lbs in approx. 18 mos). In July I re-dedicated myself to losing weight and I've lost another 40 lbs. So I'm down a total of 62 lbs from my high weight of 2 years ago and 40 lbs. since July. When friends/family etc. notice that I've lost a substantial amount of weight they invariably ask how much. If you were in my position, would you say 62 lbs or 40 lbs?
Opinions welcome.
