Introduce myself

Hi, my name is Megan. I've always struggled with my weight since I was young, but i've always been an active person. After high school my activites slowly ceased while my family members were always smaller than me, its always been on my shoulders that i don't fit in. But i want to do this for myself. I want to be in a healthy range, not skinny (although that the idea ) but healthy and able to run a 5k without dying. I'm currently 30 lbs overweight, which i realize isn't a lot to most people but this is the biggest i've been in my life. I want to surround myself with people who share similar goals. I need to put me first. Any tips on changing mindset about the gym? I talk myself out of it quite often. I'm also currently planning my wedding and so badly want to look good and feel good in dresses when I go to try some on.

Welcome. I myself had the same goal to run a 5k and so far i have ran three and plan on a full schedule of them once the weather is nicer here. I used a program called Couch to 5k and it's effectiveness blew my mind. When i first started i could barley keep up with the short run times of 1 min. now i can run 30 min straight. I have actually started the program over at a higher speed so when the 5k season starts again i do them a lot faster. Add me if you like0
