Hello. My name is Jasmine, and I'm a 19-year-old college student. I've been overweight all my life, but in the last few months, I have begun to change. Back in September, I weighed in at 217. A few weeks ago, I weighed in at 204, and I have obviously lost many inches all over my body. Now I'm continuing what I was doing: walking/jogging 3.1 miles four days out of the week, but hoping to add heavy weightlifting soon. I have been eating pretty healthy with a few cheat days. I have few goals for the year: first, be at 150 by my 20th birthday (June 26), run in a 5K in October, hopefully reach my UGW of 125 by New Years' Eve, and probably try Crossfit and spinning this year. So that's all about my journey and goals. And I'm looking for other people, including college students who are willing to make sacrifices and becoming disciplined to complete their goals.

I'll start by saying I'm no longer a college studen anymore (but *hopefully will be a graduate student soon). I graduated from Ohio State in June, 2009.
And let me tell you, trying to stay healthy in college....that was a slight challenge. =D I remember getting soooo much food for one meal swipe...it was crazy, and I ate all of it most of the time. I actually lived right across the street from one of the schools gyms though so that really left me with no excuse not to use it, so it was almost a bit easier to stay in shape while at college since I went to the gym. When I moved back home and got a job, I had plenty of excuses not to go and spend time working out.

You goals sound great! I would love to get into good enough shape to run 1/2 The Flying Pig next year. One of the best things I can tell you is to USE THE GYM! LOL, you're paying for it with your tuition (technicaly) anyway so it makes no sense to let it beckon to you with no answer! And just try, try , try your best to make healthy decisions at the cafeteria/dining hall =D and keep the partying in check (if you do it)
College is such a great time to really take control of your life and really make a consious, daily effort to be the person you invision for yourself, and you sound like you've got all it takes to be succesful!
And I just joined MFP like 2 wks ago.
